Award of Merit
The PAR-BC Award of Merit is to recognize a Resident Physician whose outstanding achievements and/or leadership reflect the aims and objectives of the Professional Association of Residents of British Columbia (PAR-BC). The award will be presented annually to a Resident Physician who has shown outstanding initiative in one of the following areas:
- Resident Health and Well Being
- Promotion of the role of Residents in the health care system
- Advocacy and representation of Residents leading to improved work or learning environments

2010 - Dr. Alex Anawati, Family Medicine
2009 – Dr. Joanna Oda, Community Medicine
2007/2008 – Dr. Tracy Scott, General Surgery, Vancouver Hospital
2006 – Dr. Shelter Lee, Family Medicine – Chilliwack
2005 – Dr. Richard Currie, UBC Rural Family Medicine
