PAR-BC Constitution
Article I Name
The name of the union is the "Professional Association of Residents of British Columbia". Hereinafter referred to as "PAR-BC".
Article II Purpose
The purpose of PAR-BC is to support residents in fulfilling their education to become well-informed, prepared and professional physicians to enhance patient care.
Article III Objects
1. Mission Statement
a. To advocate for contractual matters
b. To support members' education and encourage excellence in the teaching environment
c. To promote its members' professional, personal and financial well-being
d. To foster collegiality among its members throughout British Columbia
e. To facilitate collaboration with the community and other professional groups
2. Values
a. Fairness
b. Respect
c. Unity
d. Professionalism
Article IV Vancouver Based
The business of PAR-BC shall be conducted chiefly in the city of Vancouver, BC and in any other areas of the province where its members are employed.
Article V Amendments
Amendments to the constitution shall be conducted in accordance with Article XVI of the by-laws.
