Bowen Island

Bowen Island is located North-West of North Vancouver, and West of the Burrard Inlet. Is it a heavily forested island that kayakers and beach-lovers frequent. A drive from one side of the island to the other is only 15 minutes.

  • Transit
    • Water Taxi – This service connects downtown’s Granville to Bowen Island
    • BC Ferries – There is a terminal at Snug Cove that services Horseshoe Bay
    • Buses – Funded by Translink
      • There are only two buses that operate within Bowen Island:
        • the C10 that runs from Snug Cove to Bluewater
        • The C11 that runs from Snug Cove to Eaglecliff

When traveling via bus, there are several fare options.

  • Employer Passes – some of the hospitals have employer passes that you can join but they require a minimum one-year commitment.
  • Cash Fares – $2.50 per ticket. Transfers are free, but you must notify the bus driver when you pay your fare.
  • Sheet of 10 tickets – The fare for this is $22.50 for adults.
  • DayPASS – The DayPASS can be used an unlimited number of times a day. It is valid region-wide and costs $6.25 for adults.
  • Monthly Pass – The Monthly Pass can b used an unlimited number of times a month. It is valid region-wide and costs $67.50 for adults.

* Resident Tip: Save your monthly passes, because you could be eligible for a federal tax credit
