Duncan
Duncan is a city located in southern Vancouver Island, just south of Nanaimo. It’s tourism slogan is “The City of Totems”, as the city has 80 totem poles total, including the world’s thickest totem pole.

Transit
Transit is provided by BC Transit and the Cowichan Valley Regional Transit System.
When traveling via bus, there are several fare options.
- Employer Passes – some of the hospitals have employer passes that you can join but they require a minimum one-year commitment.
- Cash Fares – $2.00 per ticket. Transfers are free, but you must notify the bus driver when you pay your fare.
- Sheet of 10 tickets – The fare for this is $16.00 for adults.
- DayPASS – The DayPASS can be used an unlimited number of times a day. It is valid region-wide and costs $4.00 for adults.
- Monthly Pass – The Monthly Pass can be used an unlimited number of times a month. It is valid region-wide and costs $48.00 for adults.
